Privacy Policy
1. Controller
The controller is Ruth Leng de Souza, Happy Bedtime, Mendener Straße 6, 53840 Troisdorf, Germany, email info@happy-bedtime.de, phone +49 171 40 31 729. We have not appointed a data protection officer.
2. Legal bases
We process personal data only to the extent necessary for your enquiry, a rental agreement or our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR), or where we have a legitimate interest (point (f)).
3. Hosting and server logs
Our website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany (data centre in Germany). A data processing agreement exists with IONOS. When you visit the site, the web server may automatically store information in log files that your browser transmits, for example your IP address, date and time, the page requested, status code and details of your browser and operating system. This data is required for secure operation and is stored only for as long as necessary for that purpose (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The website can be reached via an encrypted connection (TLS), recognisable by “https://” and the padlock symbol in your browser. When data is transmitted by email, complete protection against access by third parties cannot be guaranteed.
4. No cookies, no tracking
This website does not set any cookies and does not use any services for audience measurement or advertising. We load fonts, images and scripts from our own server. If you use the light/dark switch, your browser stores your choice locally (entry “edc-theme-site” in local storage). This is technically necessary so that your setting is retained (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); the choice is not transmitted to us.
5. Enquiries and forms
If you contact us via a form, by email or by phone, we process your details (name, contact details, content of your enquiry) to handle your enquiry and to prepare a rental agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, for general enquiries point (f)). Your details are stored in our administration system on our server. We receive the notification of your enquiry by email, which is sent via IONOS. If no rental agreement is concluded, we delete enquiry data after 12 months at the latest.
6. Spam protection
To protect our forms against automated input, we use the Altcha service. It runs on our own server, does not set any cookies and does not transmit any data to third parties (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Rental
For the rental agreement we process your details (name, address, contact details, rental period, payment details). For your registration with the City of Troisdorf, we issue the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) required by law. We retain invoice and contract data for 10 years because tax law requires it (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).
8. Booking via third parties and external links
If you are contacted through a platform (for example Airbnb) or click on links to external sites, the respective provider processes your data under its own responsibility. Data is only transmitted once you click on a link.
9. Recipients of data
We only pass on personal data if this is necessary to perform a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (for example towards tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or if another legal basis permits it. Service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting and email delivery by IONOS) receive it only on the basis of a data processing agreement.
10. Storage period
Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose of the processing no longer applies. If you make a legitimate request for erasure, your data will be deleted unless there are other legally permissible grounds for storing it (for example retention periods under tax or commercial law); in that case it will be deleted once those grounds no longer apply.
11. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, as well as the right to object to processing on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Please send requests to info@happy-bedtime.de.
12. Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If your data is processed for direct marketing, you may object at any time; we will then no longer use it for that purpose. An informal objection by email to info@happy-bedtime.de is sufficient.
13. Right to lodge a complaint
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
14. Changes
We will update this policy if our services change. As of: 28 October 2026.
